The Tarn is open all year round (opening hours vary according to daylight hours) and entry is free. It is easily accessible by public transport.

Train
The Tarn is opposite Mottingham railway station with direct trains to London Bridge, Waterloo East, Charing Cross and Cannon Street on the Sidcup line.
Eltham rail station is 15 to 20 minutes’ walk (or a short bus ride) with direct trains to London Bridge, Waterloo East, Charing Cross, Cannon Street and Victoria on the Bexleyheath line.
Bus
The 124, 126 and 161 buses stop right outside the Tarn so you can catch direct buses to Eltham High Street, Chislehurst, Bromley, Woolwich, Catford and North Greenwich (where you can pick up the Jubilee line). You can also pick up buses to even more destinations from Eltham High Street (about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the Tarn).
Walk
The Green Chain Walk, South East London’s walking route linking 300 open spaces by 50 miles of footpaths, goes through the Tarn.
Road
There is no designated parking for the Tarn but it is usually possible to find parking spaces on nearby roads. The Tarn is on Court Road, just off the A20.
